Essential suits buyers who want an independent check before making an offer. Comprehensive, our most popular, adds an extended mechanical assessment, underbody inspection where safely accessible and advanced multi-system diagnostics. Premium is our most thorough assessment, adding in-depth diagnostics, an accident and repair assessment and the CarProved Risk Assessment.

Where do you inspect the car?

We're mobile, so we come to the vehicle. Vehicles outside our standard service area can be arranged as a Long-Distance Inspection, quoted based on location.

What does the diagnostic scan pick up?

We read fault codes from the systems the vehicle makes available. Every package includes an OBD scan. Comprehensive and Premium extend this to modules such as engine, transmission, ABS, SRS/airbag and body systems where supported. Coverage depends on the vehicle and equipment, and scanning does not replace specialist or manufacturer diagnostics where those are required.

Do you check underneath the car?

Comprehensive and Premium include an underbody inspection where it can be done safely. This is subject to safe access and vehicle and location conditions.

What does Buy / Consider / Avoid mean?

It's our overall recommendation based on the condition we observed. Buy: no significant concerns found. Consider: issues worth weighing up, pricing in or investigating further. Avoid: concerns serious enough that we wouldn't recommend going ahead.

The seller fixed the issues. Can you check again?

Yes. A Re-Inspection, from $149, reassesses the vehicle after repairs or before you complete the purchase.

Do you work for sellers or dealers?

No. We work for the buyer. We don't sell cars and the seller has no influence on our findings.

Q: Can an inspection find every fault?

No inspection can. We assess the vehicle's condition at the time and place of inspection, subject to access, weather, test conditions and available diagnostic coverage. Some faults are intermittent or develop later, and we can't guarantee a vehicle will stay fault-free after inspection.

We inspect the car at the seller's location, identify mechanical, electrical, cosmetic and accident-related issues, and give you a clear report with a BUY, CONSIDER or AVOID recommendation.
